As well as a networking opportunity for all members of the London HQR market, and in keeping with the corporate social responsibility and charitable nature of our industry, the HQR Summer Ball will also raise funds for people less fortunate than ourselves. A charitable donation forms part of your table cost and there will be a charitable theme to the evening itself, by way of a raffle and auction.
In terms of charitable endeavour and with your help, the evening is targeted to raise a minimum of £100,000.
The two chosen charities for the evening who will benefit from a 50/50 split of any money raised are;
A construction industry charity which provides financial assistance, welfare and wellbeing advice and emotional and legal support to the Construction Community to relieve hardship and stress. The charity also promotes initiatives aimed at avoiding accidents and improving safety on site and support including educational initiatives aimed at improving employment conditions and career opportunities within the construction industry.
The Lullaby Trust provides specialist support for bereaved families, promotes expert advice on safer baby sleep and raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). They work to understand why over 600 babies die suddenly and unexpectedly in the UK each year, the majority of whom appear to be healthy. The Lullaby Trust are a national charity operating across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Since formed as The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths in 1971 they have been pivotal in reducing SIDS by 81%.
